PYAR AUR COFFEE

DIRECTED BY RIPPIN SINDHER | Helen Borgers Theatre

A LOVE STORY THAT DEFIES THE ODDS.

  • LOVE.

“If it came down to it, would you be able to choose between being with me and making your parents happy?” This central question guides this play and raises the question: when the going gets tough in relationships, who do we turn to?

  • CHOICE.

“Pyar Aur Coffee” reminds us of the power we have to fight for what’s right and see what’s possible when we follow our heart instead of forcing something to work because social constructs tell us to.

  • FRIENDSHIP.

Four quick-witted and coffee-addicted friends navigate espresso machines, relationships, and South Asian societal expectations through awkward dating app chat messages, even more awkward first dates, and of course, no romantic comedy is complete without at least one Bollywood dance number.
